Benjamin Omale, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, recently announced a significant step towards fostering unity within the party by establishing a reconciliation committee. This committee has been tasked with visiting all 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) across the state in an effort to address grievances among members and bring them back into the fold.
Omale shared these developments over the weekend at the APC State Secretariat in Makurdi, where he hosted a delegation from the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Benue State Council, led by its Chairman, Vincent Nyinongu. The gathering underscored Omale’s dedication to creating a cohesive party atmosphere in Benue, particularly after a period marked by internal conflicts and divisions among APC members.
He stated that the reconciliation committee’s mission is to connect with party members at the grassroots level, listen to their concerns, and implement solutions that will promote lasting harmony within the party. Omale emphasized that the APC leadership in Benue has been working diligently, taking targeted steps to heal past rifts and ensure the APC emerges united and stronger in future elections. With a six-month mandate, the Caretaker Committee is focused on building a sense of family within the party, striving for a peaceful and inclusive atmosphere where every member feels valued and represented.
This initiative reflects the APC’s commitment to internal peace and stability as they work towards a stronger, more resilient presence in Benue State politics. Omale expressed optimism that through dialogue and sincere engagement, the APC in Benue will overcome its challenges and move forward as a unified force.
